Customer service = This was of a very high standard, and the staff were incredibly relaxed unlike several other places I've stayed in if you don't check out by 11am, nothing happens!. The bathroom was very spacious, with separate (lockable) shower and toilet shower was very powerful and the perfect complement to a long, sticky and tiring day exploring the city. The flooring is tiled, so I would recommend to be extremely careful at night if you are on the top bed, as there is a lack of barrier to prevent someone falling out and injuring themselves. All rooms have AC which was very powerful, as-well as bed linen and lockers plus free Wi-Fi (coverage was a bit patchy at times). The beds themselves were comfortable, but the ladders to get on the upper beds were tiny so expect lots of jumping from the person above you throughout the day!. However bread, butter and coffee should provide the necessary fuel to start a day of exploration! Rooms = All 6 bed rooms come with 3 bunk-beds. Breakfast (avoid the water as it is from the tap!) = The breakfast was extremely limited in both quality and range as expected for a rather inexpensive youth hostel. The bed linen, bathroom as-well as the mattresses themselves were clean without any issues, as were communal toilets located on second floor cleanliness was very good overall. I would recommend asking for help once arriving at the airport train station, as I found the entire Metro system fares very confusing (despite handling London's underground system!) Cleanliness = In general, the hostel was very clean and there were high standards of maintenance throughout. All the plazas and the Gran Via are within a 15-20 minute walking distance. This hostel is very well located in the center of Madrid, close to the Tribunal and Nuevos Ministerios stations which have good links to the airport. Location = This is, arguably, one of the most important aspects of your stay pick a hostel too far and you will waste money on travelling costs. I have broken down this review to give an accurate and concise account of what a guest should expect when staying here. As in other reviews, I am providing a reflection of the hostel only and not the city of Madrid in general (for which there are separate reviews). of people = 6 (per dorm room + private bathroom) I have just returned from a 4 night stay at this modern, clean and spacious youth hostel located in the center of Madrid having never stayed in a youth hostel before, I was unsure of what to expect but was pleasantly surprised.
